This week’s collection of smart grid wins touches on several industry sectors, from solar and customer service to transmission and energy storage. It’s a quick read but an interesting one.

 

PROJECTS AND DEVELOPMENTS

Photovoltaic module, solutions and services provider Trina Solar Limited has signed an investment framework agreement with the local government authority of Turpan Prefecture to develop a 1GW ground-mounted solar power plant project in western China's Xinjiang Region. The solar plants totaling 1GW are to be built in phases over a four-year period beginning in early 2014. Each phase of development is subject to certain conditions, including approvals from the local government and China’s State Grid. Read more >>

 

Consulting services firm Five Point Partners, LLC has been chosen by Grant PUD, a Washington nonprofit, community-owned and governed utility, to implement Oracle Utilities Customer Care and Billing solutions to enhance billing and customer service. The utility will migrate it legacy PeopleSoft CIS system to Oracle Utilities Customer Care and Billing, which supports customer care, billing, credit and collections and payment processing.
