More moves to MISO

MISO, the Midwest Independent Transmission System Operator, has received signed TOAs from Entergy Louisiana, Entergy Gulf States Louisiana, Entergy Mississippi, Entergy New Orleans and Entergy Texas.

MISO received Entergy Arkansas' TOA in early November and has now signed TOAs from all six Entergy operating companies for their integration into the regional transmission company.

The Entergy system comprises approximately 15,000 miles of transmission lines and 30,000 megawatts of generation capacity and estimates, based on independent analysis, that MISO membership will result in savings of $1.4 billion over a 10-year period.

Also last week, Cleco Corp. announced its plans to join MISO, filing its request with the Louisiana Public Service Commission to transfer functional control of Cleco's 1,250 miles of transmission lines. Cleco plans to integrate into MISO by January 2014.
