Midsize business values low prices, reliability and customer service

E Source has announced the top utilities in its midsize business customer satisfaction benchmark survey.

The survey revealed that customer service is nearly as important to midsize businesses as low energy prices and having a reliable supply of energy. These businesses value utilities that stand behind and follow through on their commitments.

Snohomish County Public Utility District earned the top spot for customer satisfaction and value with an overall score of 8.4 out of 10, and scored well above average for working to keep energy prices down and understanding the needs and challenges of their customers' businesses.

SnoPUD attributes this recognition to its team approach and emphasis on process improvement which it says have proven effective at better serving customers.

Arizona Public Service came in second place with an overall score of 7.7. It received high marks for its variety of rate options and effective communications by customer service representatives in emergency situations.

Alliant Energy and Wisconsin Public Service stood out and tied with a ranking of 7.5. Alliant Energy received high scores for being trustworthy and treating customers fairly. The ability of WPS to resolve customer issues on first contact and their ability to be proactive energy advisors were cited by respondents.
