Quick Take: We warned you that USA Today has promoted an anti-smart grid documentary. And pointed you to examples of good "what is a smart meter" websites. And told you how to get free advice from AMI experts. And now the Smart Grid Consumer Collaborative has contributed an additional useful tool. They're free. They're good. Grab them now. - By Jesse Berst
The Smart Grid Consumer Collaborative has just released its new website for consumers, WhatIsSmartGrid.org. The site features an easy to use and understand format containing information on all things smart grid, from how to save money on energy bills to explanations of smart meters.
Since recent surveys have shown that 50% of consumers have never heard the term smart grid, the site explains smart grid benefits in a way that illustrates their value in everyday life.
"The website is a one-stop shop for everything a consumer needs to know about smart grid,” explains SGCC Executive Director Patty Durand. "The site was created to help all types of energy consumers, from families trying to stretch their household budget to young people in their first apartment, understand how a smart grid can benefit them.”
