Friends and family at center of National Grid smart grid pilot

National Grid has selected CEIVA Energy to participate in its smart grid pilot program by providing actionable electricity data to customers via CEIVA's Homeview Energy Display.

The Homeview Energy Display is a unique part of the pilot in that the device not only provides instant energy information but displays it within the context of rotating pictures of friends and family. According to the utility, this will inject energy awareness into the lives of consumers in a way that has never been done before.

The home energy display will be utilized by a portion of the 15,000 National Grid customers participating in the pilot. These customers will receive energy saving tips and community information from National Grid, as well as PicturePlan services through which photos are automatically updated on a daily basis, from CEIVA. Through the sharing of photos, the display can run a new slideshow every morning.
