But will the industry accept this new and improved proposal? Or will it shoot it down with complaints and comments as it has with past versions? The ZigBee Alliance is accepting comments on the latest revision to the Smart Energy version 2.0 standard, which incorporates progress made by the Smart Energy Working Group after the last public comment period. The latest documents can be downloaded from the ZigBee website. Comments must be submitted by Aug. 15. Once finalized, Smart Energy 2.0 will provide an IP-based energy management solution capable of running on both wired and wireless communication protocols, including those supported by the HomeGrid Forum, the HomePlug Powerline Alliance, the Wi-Fi Alliance and the ZigBee Alliance.
