If you want to know who's raking in the wins in the smart grid space, scroll down for this week's list. We’ve got project wins from Georgia to Colorado – plus financing and M&A wins and a shout-out to a Silicon Valley solar company for its patent wins.
PROJECT WINS
· DOE's National Renewable Energy Lab teams with HP and Intel. The tech companies will provide a new energy-efficient high performance computer (HPC) system dedicated to energy systems integration, renewable energy research and energy efficiency technologies. The $10 million HPC system will reside at the Energy Systems Integration Facility under construction in Golden, Colorado. Read more >>
· Clevest Solutions helps Georgia coop modernize operations. Southern Rivers Energy is using Clevest's smart meter exchange system to streamline the meter deployment process and support regulatory reporting for its Sensus AMI initiative and the Clevest browser-based Automatic Vehicle Location system for a comprehensive view of its asset infrastructure and the real-time location of vehicles within it. · The City of Medicine Hat in Alberta chooses Sensus technology for electric, water and gas utility automation. It is reportedly the first application in Canada to consolidate all three municipal utility services over the Sensus FlexNet system. The initial deployment is a trial phase for residential and commercial customers. Pending city council approval, the next phase would be replacing legacy analog equipment with automated meters for all 30,000 customer accounts. Read more >>
· Matrix SME selected to upgrade four substations for PSEG. As part of the North Central Reliability Project in New Jersey, Tulsa-based Matrix will execute all necessary work on this critical project for PSEG. The total contract value is approximately $40 million. Read more >>
FINANCING AND M&A WINS

· Emerald Technology Ventures closes third venture fund. An investor in early and expansion stage companies in the areas of energy, water and materials, Emerald announced its closing with a target size of € 100 million. New investors included ABB, Clariant and Sulzer. Read more >>
