WVPA first to implement Siemens' DRMS solution
The Siemens' DRMS gives the Wabash Valley Power Association – which is a generation and transmission cooperative serving Indiana, Illinois, Missouri and Ohio -- the ability to shed load across multiple distribution systems utilizing several different DR programs. Siemens says the system allows WVPA to verify load shed, calculate baselines, and automate customer billing and settlement without cumbersome processes that previously required multiple spreadsheets for calculation. The DRMS integrates with eMeter's EnergyIP meter data management system platform that Siemens implemented for the cooperative last year, allowing for all data to be passed to and from both systems. Tantalus completes first DCVR application in U.S.
Tantalus, a smart grid communications company, announced the successful implementation of its first dispatchable conservation voltage regulation (DCVR) program with Morristown Utility Systems, a Tennessee Valley Authority utility. According to Tantalus, implementing its TUNet DCVR program allows Morristown Utility Systems to curtail load at TVA’s request, manage its own peak demand, automate existing demand management techniques, and use data to identify weaknesses and inefficiencies in the power grid, among other benefits.
