Any engineers here?
Perhaps it would be a "good idea" to have engineers as the core of this group rather than sales/marketing/media folks. Not that they are not helpful, but I'd like to see power distribution RPE's driving this. Then the real, achievable possibilities can be disseminated.

Opportunistic or innovative?
It seems dangerously limiting to allow corporate institution Cisco to have so much visibility. This technology will change the way energy consumaption is measured & regulated globaly. Too important to allow corporate buy in for marketing purposes vs. genuine innovatio. Why not tap into mid market entrepreneurial firms with "real" field engineers. At least GE is actually contributing. Just a perception.

Home Benefits
What tools are available for home users equipped with a smartgrid box? Where, exactly is the data, how much control does each access offer, and if it is not available, how can it be made so? My question applies to specific, location usage, not industry-wide news and analysis. Thanks!
