Tropos smart grid communications products extend broadband wireless to the smart grid. In addition to supporting the 802.11 "WiFi" standard, Tropos also supports the 4.9 GHz spectrum. In addition to the Tropos smart grid product line, the Sunnyvale, CA-based company also provisions smart cities with city-wide wireless broadband. Tropos smart grid customers include Stillwater, Oklahoma and Naperville, Illinois.
