AREVA’s Transmission and Distribution (T&D) Division has delivered an important system upgrade to Hydro One Networks Inc., the largest operating subsidiary of Hydro One Inc., which is wholly owned by the Canadian Province of Ontario. The new energy management system (EMS) is based on AREVA T&D’s renowned e-terra™ application suite and is running at Hydro One’s primary control center in Barrie, Ontario and its backup control center in Richview, a neighborhood of Toronto, Ontario. The system monitors and controls 97 per cent of Ontario's electricity transmission system, covering over 1 million square kilometers.
