EnerNex® Corporation and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) are looking for more industry leaders and innovators to participate in the nation's first Smart Grid Interoperability Panel (SGIP). The panel's purpose is to support NIST in its efforts to coordinate and accelerate development of Smart Grid interoperability standards.
The SGIP does not directly write standards, but members participate in the ongoing task of coordinating, accelerating and harmonizing standards development.
EnerNex, which provides engineering and consulting services as well as software solutions for the electric power industry, is working under an $8.5 million contract with NIST to provide support for the interoperability standards project.
The inaugural face-to-face SGIP meeting will be Monday, Nov. 16, and precedes the Grid-Interop conference Nov. 17-18 in Denver. During the conference, the SGIP charter will be ratified and its first governing board elected.
For those interested in SGIP and the conference, an SGIP update webinar is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 11 from 11 a.m. to noon, EST. Information on SGIP and membership, the Grid-Interop conference and the update webinar are available below. SGIP membership and other information
