Iberdrola and CURRENT Group Push the Envelope on Smart Grid Metering Technologies By SGN Staff Apr 27, 2010 - 2:51:02 PM
Iberdrola, a leading wind energy producer and the world's fourth largest utility, has picked CURRENT Group to provide Smart Grid metering communications, advanced sensing and network management solutions as an element of its initial deployment of Smart Grid technologies in Castellon, Spain. CURRENT says the Iberdrola deployment will be the first and largest installation of smart metering technologies to use comprehensive end-to-end interoperability using the open PRIME metering standard. CURRENT's Smart Transformer Station solution was designed specifically for the European, Asian and Australian markets and is a key component of Iberdrola's deployment targets.
