Education Level Required for MDM Jobs

What would you say is a good college degree to shot for that would correlate to not only MDM jobs but other Smart Grid analytical related jobs that are not only back office but field oriented as well? That not only cover todays grid but the smart grid's of the future. Do you have any insite? Thanks!
