Analysis of the North American AMI Market – Utilities are responding to increasing demand for energy by upgrading their systems, which has meant a huge boost for the AMI market, according to a new report from Frost & Sullivan. In turn, growth in smart meter deployments is expected to accelerate demand for data analytics. The forecasts:
· The AMI market earned revenues of more than $2.74 billion in 2011 and F&S estimates it will reach $4.56 billion in 2016 at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 10.7 percent.
· Sales for meter data management combined with customer and program data management is expected to account for 32.6 percent of total sales by 2016 versus 30 percent in 2011.
