Control4 ups the ante with Silver Spring and AEP Ohio alliances

There's a increasingly crowded field looking for a leg up in the home energy management space right now, and today the spotlight is shining on Control4, which just made two key announcements. First is a strategic reselling agreement with Silver Spring Networks to offer a complete utility-to-the-home solution that allows utilities to bring the smart grid to customers and execute scalable demand response programs. Second is Control4's selection by AEP Ohio to pilot its stimulus-funded gridSMART® demonstration project designed to show the full benefits of installing a comprehensive distribution smart grid for consumers and the utility. Clearly Control4 is working hard, as Silver Spring EVP Eric Dresselhuys rightly observed, to make smart grid benefits tangible to consumers.
