Wireless technology innovators Zigbee® Alliance and Wi-Fi Alliance® are joining forces to work on wireless home area networks (HANs) for smart homes. They will initially focus on Smart Energy 2.0, the next-generation energy management protocol which is expected to operate with Wi-Fi technology as the outcome of the collaboration.
