DOE is expected to issue a Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) by the end of the month for projects that develop or advance technologies to harness renewable energy from waves, currents, tides, free-flowing rivers and the ocean's thermal energy. Funding will be awarded to a number of projects competitively. Read more about it.
Quick Take: Good to see more evidence that the funding faucet hasn’t been tapped out when it comes to Smart Grid and renewable energy projects. And while wave and tidal technologies are in their relative infancy, there's an awful lot of water on this planet.
