Which smart grid companies do you think are going to stand out from the crowd in 2011? That's what the SGN 11 in 2011 is all about … and now it's up to you to make a decision. It’s time to vote for the one company you think most deserves to be on our list of 11 smart grid companies to watch in 2011. The 11 companies that get the most votes will be … as promised … on our radar (if they aren’t already) as we monitor smart grid progress in the year ahead.
In case you’re just tuning in to the SGN 11 in 2011, here’s how we got to this point: Readers nominated companies they think are going to make some noise on the smart grid scene this year – in other words, companies we're going to want to pay attention to. Our team reviewed all of the nominations we received and did a preliminary sort. And we added a few nominations of our own. For the past week we’ve been briefly highlighting the 37 companies you see on the ballot. If you want to take another look at those highlights, we’ve linked all the articles here:
· Part 1 reader nominations > Airspan Networks, Blue Pillar, BuildingIQ, Calico Energy, Electranetics, EMC/RSA
· Part 2 reader nominations > Demand Energy Networks, Xtreme Power, Energy Control, Intelen, Ambient, Powerit Solutions
· Part 3 reader nominations> Digi International, Grid Net, Lockheed Martin, Power Tagging, Verdeeco
· Part 4 reader nominations > Augusta Systems, Consert, Viridity Energy, ElectSolve, Ice Energy
· Part 5 reader nominations > On-Ramp Wireless, Echelon, Cisco, Mapjects, Telvent
· Part 6 reader nominations > IPKeys, Powersense, RuggedCom, Tropos Networks
· SGN nominations > ABB, Coulomb Technologies, Honeywell, Schneider Electric, Silver Spring Networks, SmartSynch
If you want to do some 11th hour lobbying on behalf of one of the 11 companies, please jump over to our new Companies to Watch discussion forum. And check back; we'll be posting interesting tidbits about other smart grid companies periodically and invite you to do the same.
We’ll shut down the voting at midnight Pacific time on Friday, Jan.21. Be sure to check back next week to find out which 11 companies SGN readers selected as the ones to watch this year.
