State Energy Program

  • The State Energy Program provides grants to states and directs funding to state energy offices. States use the grants for their energy priorities and program funding to adopt emerging renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies. States may fund a range of applicable energy efficiency improvements and renewable resource development activities across all public sectors, including research, planning, technical assistance, demonstration and deployment. States often combine sources of funding for their projects.

Clean Cities Program: Petroleum Reduction Technologies Projects for the Transportation Sector

  • The Clean Cities Program will administer a $300 million competitive grant program to help grant recipients acquire vehicles with higher fuel economy, including light, medium and heavy duty hybrid vehicles; battery powered electric vehicles; and commercially available plug-in hybrid vehicles (both conversions and factory-built plug-ins).  The program also covers the necessary refueling/recharging infrastructure to support these vehicles.
