SELECT ENERGY PROJECTS

Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant Program (EECBG)

Arkansas’ allocation: $7,144,608

·      Of the total, $2,346,392 will distributed directly to the 14 CDBG entitlement cities in the state, and $5,144,608 will be available for distribution under the State Small Cities CDBG program administered by the Arkansas Economic Development Commission (AEDC). Grants will be provided to eligible cities and counties for economic development projects, for the construction of buildings or for infrastructure. At least 51% of the persons who benefit from the project must be of low to moderate income (LMI). (LMI is defined as less than 80% of the area median income.)  The US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) will issue guidelines to the state.  Cities and counties will then be invited to submit lists of eligible projects through their local Planning or Economic Development District.
