Posting Rules

Just as a substation needs relays and protective gear, a blog needs simple rules of conduct to prevent comments that could be shocking, inflammatory or profane. So please:

  1. Don't be a jerk.
  2. Don't be curser. The English language is vast and magnificent.
  3. Don't be a sniper. Please don't attack people personally even if you think they are stupid. (Especially if you think they are stupid).
  4. Don't be a troll (someone who makes outrageous statements purely to derail discussion). You know who you are.
  5. Don't be a spammer. No spam, no solicitations, no links to porn.
  6. Seriously, don't be a jerk.

These posting rules are entirely unnecessary to our regular audience, which is composed 100% of intelligent, well-spoken, tolerant people. However, should an outsider violate one of these rules, you may report it to editor@smartgridnews.com

Please note: That the IP address of where the message is posted from is recorded to track violators.
