· Guam Power Authority gives it up for Landis+Gyr. The electric power providers for the U.S. Territory of Guam will use L+G's Gridstream RF advanced metering solution for its smart grid project, which will include deployment of 52,000 advanced meters and Gridstream networking components over the next two years. · New Zealand smart grid project goes to Silver Spring Networks. SSN’s standards-based IPv6 networking solution will be deployed across the entirety of Unison’s service territory. The company's team of Indian and U.S. clean energy experts will work with U.S. Agency for International Development and Government of India counterparts to scale up and deploy innovative energy efficiency and smart grid technologies and practices. · ABB wins a $60 million HVDC order from AEP to improve grid reliability in Texas. The project involves replacing a 30-year-old high-voltage direct current (HVDC) converter station to enable efficient power exchange, improve grid reliability and facilitate power flow control. Press release >>

Quanta's PAR division will install transmission infrastructure for SCE's Eldorado-Ivanpah Transmission Project and will also construct SCE's Red Bluff Substation Project near the town of Desert Center in eastern Riverside County, Calif.
