Day after Thanksgiving here in the States and some folks are thankful no one ate the last piece of pumpkin pie. Others are thankful they're heaping new smart grid wins on their plates. Scroll down and click to page 2 to learn more about the latter.
PROJECT WINS
· Itron and Cisco technology heading to Hong Kong – CLP Power Hong Kong will incorporate Itron's smart grid solutions in its 4,500 advanced meter pilot. In addition to Itron smart meters, data collection software, meter data management software and cellular solutions the rollout will also rely on Cisco Connected Grid Routers and Connected Grid Network Management System. · SMUD chooses Detectent's analytics solution – The San Diego-based software provider will install and deploy its Customer Intelligence Platform and
· Energate leads consumer engagement project in Ontario – Ottawa-based Energate signed a contract with the Ontario government to lead a smart grid into the home project. As part of the project, Energate and a number of Ontario utilities will be testing different combinations of portals, mobile applications, smart thermostats and other technologies and programs that leverage Energate's Consumer Connected Demand Response home energy management platform. · U.S. military enlists Power Analytics help again – Last week we mentioned Power Analytics was helping out the Army. Now the San Diego firm (one of SGN's 2012 Companies to Watch) has been selected to use its software to create and operate a secure cluster of microgrids at three separate San Diego area naval bases. The company says this will be the first centrally managed cluster of microgrids in a cyber-secure military environment. More >>
· ABB will expand fast charging in Denmark fast -- CLEVER, an electric mobility operator (EMO) in Denmark has chosen ABB as supplier of 50 Terra
51 DC fast EV chargers at multiple locations throughout the country. ABB’s Terra 51 is specially designed for freeway driving and is capable of charging an electric vehicle in 30 minutes or less. The first six ABB Terra 51 fast charge stations are due to be delivered and installed immediately and the remaining fast chargers will be fully deployed within six weeks. More >>
· Ontario utilities choose Ontario SCADA provider – Mississauga, Ontario-based Survalent Technologies has commissioned new SCADA systems for both the Kenora Hydro Electric Corp. in Ontario and Utilities Kingston, also in Ontario. Kenora Hydro distributes electricity to 4,800 residential customer and 820 general service customers. Utilities Kingston combines water, sewer, gas and electrical services as well as broadband fiber optics. More >>
