PROJECT WINS
· Alstom has signed two contracts totaling approximately €16 million with the National Power Transmission Corp., a subsidiary of Vietnam Electricity Group, to supply primary equipment and materials for 500/220 kV substations in South Vietnam. Alstom will provide all electrical materials and equipment, as well as supervisory services. Read more >>
· AMSC received an order for a D-VAR reactive compensation solution from Xiamen Red Phase Instruments. The new D-VAR system is being used to resolve power quality issues for China Southern Power Grid. It is the third order that AMSC has received from Red Phase. Read more >>
· Efacec ACS was chosen by the City of Griffin, Georgia to provide its PRISM Real-time Outage Management System. The system Griffin is getting is built on a real-time SCADA platform, which Efacec says allows it to handle data faster and more efficiently than traditional methods -- a vital feature in outage and emergency scenarios. · Kamstrup signed a contract with Denmark energy supplier Østjysk Energi to supply a complete wireless smart metering system, including 30,000 smart meters. Kamstrup says it makes Østjysk Energi the first utility to order its new smart grid platform, OMNIA. Read more >>
· AECOM Technology Corp., a global provider of professional technical and management support services, has been engaged by Transmission Developers Inc. of Albany, N.Y., as owner’s engineer for the Champlain Hudson Power Express (CHPE) project. CHPE is a high-voltage direct current buried and submarine cable transmission project that will bring 1,000 MW of clean power, primarily generated by wind and hydropower, to the New York City metropolitan area. · Milsoft Utility Solutions’ Engineering Analysis software was chosen by the Reading Municipal Light Department in Massachusetts for use in the planning and operation of its electric utility system.
