We've got another batch of companies with project wins to tell you about this week – among them familiar names like Elster and Landis+Gyr. But we'll also tell you about wins by companies you may not have heard of yet – but may be hearing much more about in the months ahead. See details below and more on page 2.
PROJECT WINS
· Landis+Gyr signed a contract to enable Estonia's largest distribution company, Elektrilevi, to fully move to smart metering by 2017. As the main partner of Ericsson Eesti, Landis+Gyr is responsible for providing the smart metering infrastructure for the project, including the smart meters, data concentrators and the head-end system. · Kandi Technologies, the Chinese electric vehicle maker, won what a
Seeking Alpha writer suggests is the world's largest EV order ever – 20,000 to be precise. More >>
· Survalent Technology announced two more SCADA commissions this week; one for an Indonesia-based power company. The other will be installed at Texas State Technical College as a tool for students in the school's Smart Grid Technologies discipline and SCADA Communications sub-discipline. More >>
· McPhy Energy, the French developer of solid state hydrogen storage, is part of a consortium of seven partners that have successfully kicked off the INGRID project, a major renewable energy storage demonstration project in Europe with an overall budget of 23.9M euros. More >>
· Alvarion was selected by Muscatine (Iowa) Power & Water to provide its wireless broadband network equipment to connect the municipal utility's communications customers, many of whom live in difficult-to-reach areas. More >>
· Elster announced that Peterborough Utilities, a water and electric utility serving residents of the City of Peterborough, Ontario, Canada, chose Elster to supply Aztech In-Home Displays enabled by Elster's EnergyAxis system. The displays will provide Peterborough's customers with real-time information on their energy consumption.
