USDA funding to help electric infrastructure in Kent & Sussex Counties
Delaware’s Congressional delegation is announcing funding that will expand electric infrastructure in rural areas of Kent and Sussex Counties. The funding is over $28-million in USDA funding for Delaware Electric Cooperative to build 587 miles of new power distribution lines, improve 55 miles of existing distribution lines and make other infrastructure improvements which will benefit about 9000 residents. Delmarva power line project pushed back
A slow economy and lower power demand projections will delay a regional high-voltage power line by four or five years. The 500-kilovolt Mid-Atlantic Power Pathway would start in Dumfries, Va., run through Maryland and across the Chesapeake Bay, continue through southern Delaware and finish at the Indian River Power Plant in Millsboro. Delaware delegation announces award to support landmark manure-to-energy project
Today, Sens. Tom Carper and Chris Coons and Rep. John Carney (all D-Del.) announced $848,424 to help Delaware farmers convert manure to energy to generate income and improve water quality in the Chesapeake Bay. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) funding, which will be distributed by the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation to Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania and West Virginia, is one of 52 grants totaling $22.5 million awarded to the winning 2011 Conservation Innovation Grants (CIG) proposals. Huge solar project in Delaware up and running
More than 34-thousand solar panels in Dover are soaking up rays, converting all of that sunshine into 10-megawatts of electricity.
