EV Charging Stations: Get Yours Free While Supplies Last!

Almost 5,000 of Coulomb Technologies' EV charging stations will be delivered free to homes and public locations in nine regions throughout the country. The company's $37 million ChargePoint America program, supported by a $15 million Smart Grid stimulus grant, will provide Coulomb's ChargePoint® Networked Charging Stations to participants in Texas, Michigan, California, New York, Washington and Washington, D.C. The program expands what is said to be the largest networked infrastructure for EVs in the world and is a strategic partnership between Coulomb, Ford, Chevrolet and smart USA. More than 1,000 charging stations will be installed by December 2010, with the balance by September 2011. Businesses and individuals interested in receiving a charging station can check it out at the ChargePoint America Web site.

Quick Take: What can we say? It's a smart strategy: Partner up with a proven vendor to build the charging infrastructure your new EVs will need as they roll onto the highways. There's a lot of that going around right now.
