. The Smart Grid Information Clearinghouse (SGIC) has released a beta version of its online guide to all things Smart Grid. The Recovery Act funded resource provides a wealth of information on Smart Grid technologies, Smart Grid stimulus projects and legislation. It also offers an extensive searchable standards database. The SGIC Web site is intended for a wide audience: consumers, utilities and vendors, not to mention researchers and policy makers. SGIC's features range from basic introductory material to highly technical papers and project contact information. The site is expected to officially launch in September. Until then, comments or suggestions are being encouraged in the site's forum area. "The team at Virginia Tech and IEEE has been incredibly receptive to suggestions and has literally worked night and day to launch this ambitious and important project," noted Katherine Hamilton, GridWise Alliance president and clearinghouse advisory board member.
Quick Take: This is an excellent opportunity to help shape a resource of great value for anyone interested in or involved in the Smart Grid initiative. Take a look at the SGIC Web site and make your comments and suggestions.
