GridWise Alliance Ending GridWeek Role to Develop New Event

The GridWise Alliance has scheduled its new GridWise® Global Forum for Sept. 21-23, 2010 in Washington, DC.

The alliance of utilities, technology companies, venture capitalists, regulators, academics and other Smart Grid stakeholders has chosen to discontinue its participation in the annual GridWeek conference in favor of developing its own event.

While the GridWeek event has been consistently successful, the GridWise board decided it is in the organization's best interests to have more control over the entire event. The new forum will be hosted by the alliance and its partner, the U.S. Department of Energy.

An organizing committee will be assembled during the next few months to design the conference and oversee program development.
