There has never been a better time to interact with NERC and recommend changes and improvements. Thanks to the advent of a new CEO, it is especially open to suggestions.

Prodded by the American Public Power Association and others, NERC is on a path to:

  • Lighten its heavy-handed ways
  • Recommend improvements rather than just penalizing mistakes
  • Become less a creature of FERC and more of a collegial body that interacts with all the regional associations
