. In his post kicking off the DOE’s new blog, Energy Secretary Steven Chu admitted started a blog is hardly novel. But he suggested the blog, along with the department’s new presence on Twitter and Facebook, represent a commitment to a level of transparency, engagement and accessibility that people should expect from their government. If that doesn’t get you up close and personal enough with the DOE folks, you can also check out their YouTube and Flickr pages. . “Our goal,” the Secretary wrote, “is to use the Energy Blog and our other social media outlets to show you who we are, what we do, and why it matters to you, while allowing you to connect with us in new and creative ways.” . And just to get it all out there, you can also join the 13,000-plus who like Secretary Chu’s personal Facebook page.
