According to Daily Tech, the J.D. Power numbers suggest electrified vehicles – EVs, PHEVs and BEVs –will likely account for only 7.3 percent of vehicles sold in 2020. So out of an estimated 70.9 million vehicles that will be sold that year, only 5.2 million would be electrified.
Quick take: We've got to agree with J.D. Power SVP John Humphrey, who suggests that without policy intervention in the form of tax breaks or higher fuel-economy standards, price is going to be a huge factor in adoption.
