Schneider Electric has acquired two companies, France-based Vizelia and D5X, both specialists in software technologies for building management. The move strongly complements Schneider's existing offerings in the field. . Vizelia's software provides real-time energy consumption data monitoring, maintenance planning and property management for new and existing education, public and commercial buildings. D5X provides solutions in real-time tracking of movement and building occupancy, room control systems (lighting, ventilation, blinds) and data network management. . "By acquiring Vizelia and D5X, Schneider Electric enhances its capability to offer complete solutions to improve building performance. We will also be able to leverage our market position in some targeted countries and propose these technologies to our customers outside of France," said Chris Curtis, executive VP for Schneider's Buildings business.
