Schneider Electric and Telvent set their sights on smart cities

Schneider Electric and Telvent have announced a joint offering of integrated solutions designed for cities coping with rising populations and the accompanying growing demand for services, as well as their need to stay globally competitive. Schneider and Telvent, which it recently acquired, say their SmartCity suite of solutions will help cities  meet those increasing needs – and help ensure that they will be efficient, sustainable and livable places.

"Bringing together the expertise of Schneider Electric and Telvent gives us the unique capability to deliver custom solutions that meet the specific needs of each city," said Philippe Delorme, executive VP of Schneider Electric. "Our innovative SmartCity offering, integrated for performance and delivered in a collaborative model, is a game changer for existing and new cities facing challenging infrastructure needs."

SmartCity's integrated solutions for critical infrastructure management address those critical needs with a variety of components: smart grid and smart mobility (including EV integration), water, public services and smart buildings and homes. SmartCity, its creators say, offers affordable and easy to deploy and manage solutions.
