NYISO Gets $37.8 Million in Stimulus Money to Deploy Smart Grid Technology

The New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) will get $37.8 in Smart Grid investment grant money for a statewide phasor measurement network and capacitor banks in locations throughout the state. The installations of the units, also called
Smart Grid, Smart Grid technology, Smart Grid stimulus award, NYISO stimulus award
synchrophasors, will enhance the reliability and efficiency of the bulk electric grid and also will lay the groundwork for future Smart Grid technology innovations in the state. All eight of New York's transmission owners have agreed to work with NYISO on the stimulus-funded project.

Quick Take: It's not coming hot and heavy at the moment, but it's good to know the stimulus tap is still delivering.
