EPRI is continuing to develop a transmission line inspection robot, known as "Ti," that can be permanently installed to traverse 80 miles of transmission lines at least twice a year. As this video highlights, the latest model of Ti uses sensor technologies that send information to utilities on a real-time basis. This includes weather data, vegetation imaging and the detection of any obstructions on lines.
