1 The California Independent System Operator Corporation's Board of Governors have approved a 2011/2012 Transmission Plan that calls for 30 new transmission projects necessary to maintain grid reliability.
The approved projects will require investments of $691 million. ISO based its evaluations on three factors to determine if more transmission is necessary: maintain electric grid reliability, enable policy-driven resources (clean energy, for example) and relieve transmission bottlenecks to cut costs.
