PROJECT WINS
· Austin Energy chooses Telvent ADMS – The Texas utility will implement the latest release of Telvent's advanced distribution management system. With the capability to process an increasing amount of real-time data and forecast near-term energy demand in the presence of distributed energy resources, Telvent says the ADMS will allow Austin Energy to more efficiently operate the grid and support deployment of renewable energy throughout the distribution network. o Abengoa taps Telvent's distributed control system (DCS) and solar field control system for its concentrated solar power plant located near Barstow, Calif. The solar field control system will coordinate the plant mirrors’ movement in precise accordance with the sun’s angle; the DCS will help streamline plant operations. The Mojave project will have the capacity to serve 54,000 homes when it comes online in 2014. More >>
· UK Ministry of Defense contracts with IBM – IBM's smarter buildings software will be used to transform 235,000 assets across a 900 square mile real estate portfolio – including naval bases, airfields, housing and military training grounds. The ministry's Defense Infrastructure Organization will replace its outdated legacy IT environment and create a new centralized information management system with IBM technology, allowing faster analysis and more informed decision-making to better manage its vast network of real estate. · City of Jacksonville chooses EnergyCAP – Florida's largest city will use grant funds to deploy EnergyCAP software to help reduce energy costs, report on the environmental impact of government operations, improve the energy efficiency of city buildings, and reduce negative environmental impacts. The city says EnergyCAP will be used for utility bill tracking, auditing, benchmarking, greenhouse gas tracking, and reporting for more than 6.5 million square feet including 300 buildings. More >>
· Smarter Grid Solutions joins Scottish trial – The UK-based company will trial some of its latest technology to help Scottish Power Energy Networks create a smarter distribution network in the East Lothian and Borders region of Scotland. The project will test a new approach to connecting conventional and community driven renewable energy. More >>
