Smart grid 2012: What's the single most important thing to accomplish this year?

Last week I discussed the top 9 predictions for 2012 and had some great feedback from readers. So this week as we jump full-bore into the New Year, we're wondering what you would pick as the single most important thing to accomplish in the smart grid arena this year.

·         Would it be finishing work on standards?

·         Are there specific smart grid technologies that you think should be improved?

·         Should it be creating a policy framework that states can work for?
