Spain's Iberdrola, one of the world's largest utilities, has selected CURRENT to provide advanced metering, transformer supervision and network communications for a wide-scale deployment there this year.
An Iberdrola official said CURRENT is a "key strategic supplier" to the utility and that he hoped the company would continue to have a critical role in Iberdrola's large-scale deployment of advanced metering and grid automation systems in Spain.
The STAR Project rollout is the largest, most comprehensive metering and grid automation initiative announced for 2012 in Europe, CURRENT says.
