Joe Hughes is a Sr. Technical Manager for Power Delivery System Technologies in the Power Delivery Science and Technology Development Division at EPRI in Palo Alto, California.  He has over 25 years experience in the utility industry including 20 years at Pacific Gas and Electric, 3 years Consulting and 7 years at EPRI. Mr. Hughes has managed a variety of research and development projects on advanced utility automation communications infrastructure ranging from Transmission and Distribution Automation to metering and customer communications. Mr Hughes manages EPRI’s IntelliGridâ„¢ Architecture and has made several contributions to assist key International Standards for advanced automation and customer communications. Joe has a Bachelors Degree in Physical Science and a Masters in Computer Systems
